{5 years later}

as the team had finished another mission, everyone had noticed one thing was off today. Amadalia, usually calm, controlled and focused, had been grumpy today. And while they had managed to get their hands on their target, Amadalia had beaten him into an inch of his vampire life. For an eighteen year old vampire, Amadalia was tall, beautiful, looked like a noble young lady. Normally either a calm expression, but now she seemed to be pissed off.

Blaze was an eighteen year old werewolf, was broad and muscular and had a furry red coat draped over his back. Kuro, an eighteen year old Naga. His snake tail was about ten meter long and while not as broad as Blaze, he was muscular. Bob, a twenty year old Succubus, was tall and extremely well endowed, her dark skin was shining with health. Mathew, a sixteen year old demon, was about as tall and broad as the other two boys, had small black horns on his forehead, covered by his long and messy hair. And the final member of the group and team, Saya; a seventeen year old witch, who's body was just as mature as those of the other women.

In the five years they had worked as a team, they had stopped multiple rogue groups of vampires, stopped invading forces with ill intent, took down groups of humans who wanted to fight the creatures of the night. They had also taken down official demon hunters. And, the cave where Blaze, Ama and Mathew had played as kids now served as a trophy room, holding all the valuables and treasures they had collected over the years.

As they headed back to their homes, Blaze and Amadalia walked the rest of the way home through the woods, having said their goodbyes at the edge of the forest, where the Moonsong domain ended and the Suraisa valley began. Blaze smiled, 'so, what's bothering you Ama?' Amadalia shot him a cold glare, reminding Blaze of Amadalia's mother, how she could do the same. Even so, Blaze kept his smile, 'glaring at me is not really an answer. And don't think I'm the only one who noticed. The others have also noticed. And if we have a mission again and you're still in the same mood,...'

Amadalia stopped walking and she looked the other way, 'I'm just having an off day okay! So what if I seem a little angry, or pissed? That's my problem to deal with.' Blaze nodded, 'okay, I didn't say you looked angry, I only asked what was bothering you. So, who are you angry at? Your mom?' Amadalia turned her head back to Blaze,... she had said too much. But than again, she had kept this info in since,... two days ago. And Blaze was her friend, she could tell him.

She sighed, 'okay, yeah, i'm pissed off at my mom, as well as someone else.' she leaned against a tree and Blaze calmly looked at her, listening. Amadalia closed her eyes for a moment, remembering the entire scene from two days ago and how she, once again, had no say in the matter. She looked at Blaze, 'so,... two days ago, we had some high ranking visitors. Someone descended from the original vampire king; Vlad Dracul Teppes, also known as Dracula. He and his queen Mina had three children. The eldest inherited his father's position as vampire king after his father's death. But the other two remained important too. The family who came to visit us was descended from the third child.'

Blaze nodded, not sure what the royal vampire family had to do with this, but knowing Amadalia's mother, it would probably have something to do with the Moonsong family being a noble house. And she would like to keep it that way. Amadalia frowned, 'so this guy shows up, not bad looking, but he gives of a bad vibe. And he and mom discussed; me. Long conversation short, he wanted to marry me, my mom wants me to marry him. And I wasn't given a say in the matter, so here I am; engaged.'

Blaze his eyes widened and his jaw literally dropped. Amadalia frowned, 'could you try not to look so stupid?! It's not a good look for you!' Blaze closed his mouth and narrowed his eyes, cleared his throat and looked for the words, '… so,... you can't get out from under this;... marriage situation?' Amadalia shook her head, 'nope, none! And if I tried to kill this jerk, not only would I get the third royal family angry at me, but the Moonsong clan would lose its noble status, yada yada yada, mom unhappy, we declared rogues; as good as dead.'

Blaze nodded and sat down against the tree Amadalia still leaned against. Both friends remained quiet for quite some time. Amadalia shook her head, 'I may be a member of a noble family, it may give me status, but I barely have any choice. If not for running away ten years ago and running into you and Mathew, I would probably not have been allowed to choose my own friends. Now I'm not allowed to choose my own husband. He simply chooses me because of my family's status and my mom just gives me away.'

Blaze sighed, 'and knowing rogue vampires as I do,... I mean; we've hunted them down for the last five years, running away isn't an option either, unless you would want to go rogue yourself.' Amadalia nodded, 'I wasn't planning on doing that,... though the thought sounds tempting,... more so than going home, since our royal guest is still there and won't leave until after we're married,... in two weeks.' Blaze frowned, 'you mean, after you're married he leaves you behind?'

Amadalia shook her head, 'I wish I was that lucky. After we're married, he goes to his new home, which is currently being build and brings me with him. I'll still remain the team leader,... but it will take me a little longer to contact you and come to you guys.' Blaze and Amadalia both sighed. Amadalia closed her eyes, before frowning, 'and what are you doing here Marshall?' to her left stood a twenty year old vampire with slicked back black hair and piercing green eyes, 'oh, I'm just looking at my fiancé, who has safely returned from her mission. But than I find her in the disastrous company of a werewolf,... the stench alone is nearly killing me.'

Blaze frowned as he heard this guy's pompous voice, his arrogant tone of voice and the smug look on his face; this was a vampire he didn't like. Yet Blaze frowned, 'very funny. I'm currently hiding my scent, so I don't think you smell me. I believe it's your own breath,' Blaze pinched his nose, 'smells like rotten garbage.' Amadalia chuckled while Marshall frowned, not liking the comment about his breath, or the fact his fiancé laughed at it.

Marshall frowned, 'so, it's true what your mom said my future bride to be; you indeed keep some rather strange company. Personally I have a weretiger, but as a pet, not as a friend. Lesser creatures of the night should never even try to speak to us as equals.' Amadalia's scowl returned, 'just because you're a royal and a descended of Dracula, doesn't mean other creatures of the night are lesser than you. In fact, I know of at least one creature who's even younger than I am who could beat you.'

Marshall grinned, 'oh really? A lesser creature of the night, younger than you my lovely fiancé and it would be stronger than me? I doubt it's even stronger than you or your smelly dog. You're probably just talking big about one of your friends. Don't worry, I won't hurt them or tear you away from them. But as my future wife, you must know missions will become a rarity. Seeing as you're marrying into the Teppes family, heirs will be expected.'

Blaze turned away, rolling his eyes, “does this guy want one of Ama's knuckle sandwiches shoved down his throat or what?” Amadalia's scowl increased, 'we're not even married yet and you already start talking as if we are and what my duties would be. Save such talk for after the deed is done. And for your information Marshall, I wasn't talking big. Our friend would easily mob the floor with you.'

Marshall kept a smile on his face, but his right eye twitched in annoyance. This girl was not obedient and didn't mind giving him a hard time. It was somewhat annoying, but it was also part of her charm. He would work on taming this girl after they were married. But until than, 'so, this powerful friend of yours; where is he? I'd like to have a few words with him. See if he's really all that strong.'

Amadalia nodded, 'very well. His name is Mathew Suraisa and, if he's not to busy, I'm sure he'll be here soon enough.' Blaze grinned, 'yeah. You know the old saying; talk about the devil,...' Mathew, 'and he shall appear.' a gust of wind followed, as Mathew suddenly stood in between Blaze and Amadalia. Marshall was speechless for a moment. He didn't know where this kid had come from, but according to the burst of wind, he had moved rather fast. But other than that he was a bit small and with his messy blond hair, his silly smile and happy green eyes, he looked too goofy to be taken serious as an actual opponent.

Marshall shook his head and raised his right hand, calling down a bat, which came and hung upside down on his hand. In the blink of an eye, the bat transformed into a three meter tall hulking behemoth, mouth filled with fangs and burning red eyes. Marshall nodded with a content smile, 'this should be more than enough of a challenge for the little guy.' Amadalia and Blaze both took a step back, letting Mathew have all the space he needed.

Marshall also took a step back, to let his summoned and transformed monster bat have all the play room it needed to swat the little demon. It jumped forward with a vicious roar, before its head was grabbed, forehead and jaw and its mouth was forced shut by Mathew, who had charged a hell-sphere in his mouth, now letting it out in a breath, the creature was blown up and Marshall quickly sidestepped the attack, or he would have been hit by the attack as well. He was somewhat surprised. He had not expected the little guy to only need one move to defeat his creation.

Marshall summoned a smile to his face, 'not bad. But just beating one of my creations is nothing to feel proud about. Nor does it earn you the right to fight me.' he held up both his hands this time and now ten bats came flying down. As all ten of them hung on one of his fingers, in one go, Marshall turned all of them into the same hulking behemoths as the bat from earlier. Mathew grinned as he pulled back his right fist, preparing to punch, while a hell-sphere charged on his fist, lightning ran over his arm, while small vines appeared out of and wrapped around Mathew's right arm too.

As the ten monsters attacked, Mathew let fly a single punch, sending out a force of lightning and a hell-sphere blast. The force annihilated all the bats and this time Marshall jumped up to avoid the reach of the attack, which also mowed down dozens of trees. As he looked at the ground, Mathew was no longer there. Instead he found the little guy on his back, ruffling his neatly slicked back hair, making it a mess. Mathew nodded, 'much better this way.'

Marshall outstretched his nails and swung his claws at Mathew, who jumped off his back and landed before him, both of them having unfolded their wings, floating in the air. Marshall had two large bat wings and two smaller ones on his lower back, while Mathew had two dragon wings and two black feathery wings. Blaze and Amadalia jumped into the trees, sitting down atop one, so they could see how this fight would end.

Marshall came forward, intending to swat the boy away, like the annoying fly that he was. But not only was Mathew not swatted away, he took the backhand to the head, stood his ground, before letting out a punch of his own, in Marshall's gut. The blow drove the vampire backwards and left him gasping for air. Mathew simply stood where he stood with the same smile as when he had showed up, 'so, that one bat should be enough? Ten weren't enough and your slap didn't pack much punch either.'

Marshall's green eyes turned red and he dashed forward, dark magic streamed from his hands as he started throwing punches. Amadalia could tell he was throwing punches about as hard as he could, amped up by dark magic to increase the damage he was doing to his opponent. Mathew however managed to dodged the attacks by ducking, sidestepping and flying over Marshall's head, before finally grabbing both Marshall's wrists and pile-driving both his feet into Marshall's chest.

Marshall was left gasping for air again, but this time Mathew didn't simply let him recover; he punched him in the face while lightning charged up his arm, increasing his speed, as well as hitting Marshall in the face with electricity. Blaze grinned, 'I wish I had some meat with me. This is some high quality entertainment.' Amadalia nodded. Seeing that arrogant Marshall getting his ass handed to him on a silver plate, especially by someone who was four years younger than him. It did distract her from the fact that she would have to marry him in two weeks, just a little.

Marshall tried to fight back, summoned in a flock of bats, transformed them all while taking on a large humanoid bat form himself, covering his entire body in his blood armor, fighting at the peek of his strength. Mathew countered this by taking on his demon form, four demon horns, dragon antlers, a tail with a dragon head, hairy legs with hooves instead of feet, large claws, scaly white skin, bone spikes and wood spikes sticking out of his back and he grew to three times his own size. 5 years ago he had reached 390 cm in height. Now he stood 510 cm, dwarfing Marshall.

And while Marshall tried to be faster than Mathew, despite his size, the dmon child could still keep up with the vampire and hit even harder than before. Blaze thought for a moment as the two in the sky continued fighting, 'you know Ama, I've seen my mom and dad transform, I've seen Kuro and Bob transform, I've seen Mathew and his parents transform. I know your mom can and now we see this douche transformed. But even after all these years, the only transformation I've seen is your eyes turning red, your skin becoming white and your nails turning into black claws. Along with you gaining wings and dawning your blood armor. But I have never seen you turn into a bat like creature.'

Amadalia kept her eyes on the fight, 'it's because I never needed to, okay? Its not a side of myself I like to show. But should our lives be in danger, I would use it.' Blaze nodded, 'okay, I was just wondering. It would be strange if there was someone in our team who couldn't transform, other than Saya.' Amadalia nodded, 'yeah true. But witches don't transform themselves. They can transform other things.'

Marshall was being tossed around like a rag doll and used as a flying punching bag, while Blaze continued, 'that reminds me, Banasha, that witch we fought so long ago. Even though all three of us transformed, she wasn't really all that powerful, even though it took the three of us to beat her.' Amadalia nodded, watching how Mathew had grabbed Marshall's legs and was slamming him left and right against the ground, 'yeah I remember. Comparing her back than, an adult, to Saya now, who's almost an adult, she was weak. Now all of us could beat her without transforming, or even using our full power. Saya is much more powerful while being younger than Banasha was back than or would have been today.'

Blaze nodded, 'that shows once again what teamwork is good for. Working together helps increase one's power faster. Nice one Mathew!' Mathew had slammed Marshall on the ground and had put one of his hooves on him, keeping him pinned down on the ground, 'thanks Blaze.' he looked down, 'now, if you surrender I'll let you go.' Amadalia, although far away, could clearly see the expression on Marshall's face as he transformed back into his human appearance. The mere thought of surrendering to a lesser creature of the night was embarrassing and disgusting to him. Yet considering his bruises, broken blood armor and torn wing, he didn't have much of a choice. He nodded and whispered something.

Mathew held his head to the side, poked his own claw in his ear and wriggled around, before placing his claw behind his ear, 'sorry, what was that? I'm afraid I couldn't hear you.' to put some strength behind those words, he put more force behind the hoof he had planted on Marshall's back, making him squeal in pain, before shouting; 'ALRIGHT FINE! I SURRENDER!' Mathew nodded and got off of his back and slowly turned into his normal self, while joining Blaze and Amadalia in the tree, 'thanks for the invite Ama. It was some great stress relieve after the taxing mission we just had.'

Blaze nodded, 'yeah right. It was a breeze. Taxing mission my tail. You just felt like letting go of your emotional control somewhat and beat on some poor slug,... or leech this time I guess.' Mathew shrugged with a big grin, 'guilty. But either way Ama, thanks for the invite.' she nodded, 'no problem. So, do you know who it is you just beat up?' Mathew nodded and, in a slow but flowing motion plucked a piece of snake skin of Blaze's shoulder, 'yeah. Kuro likes listening in on Blaze from time to time. And he shared with the rest of us. So yeah, we know. And while we did sort of listen in, it was you who told us.'

Amadalia nodded, 'well, better that you know. Well, thanks for the entertainment. Dawn's coming soon, so I'll be going home to sleep. I'm sure I'll have pleasant dreams after the comedy show you just showed us.' Mathew nodded and made a polite bow as the vampire and werewolf jumped out of the tree and went home, 'you're very welcome.'
