Blaze Kagayaku was walking through Hueco Mundo, his mission to take out a Vasto Lorde had been a success and now he was headed back to the soul society. As he walked past a tree, he stopped and turned to look at it. Or rather, at the soul reaper leaning against it. Mathew smiled, waved at blaze and said: ‘hey ma man, nice day ain’t it?’

Blaze nodded and replied: ‘sure is, a bit cold here in Hueco Mundo though. Don’t know how you can stand walking here on your bare feet. By the way, what’s a member of the royal guard doing here?’

Mathew nodded, stepped forward, away from the tree as he replied: ‘I’m glad you asked. You see, I was taking care of a group of gillians and adhuchas that had grown a bit too big for our liking. So, after I had disposed of them, I noticed a burning spirit energy above the forest, recognizing it as yours. And so, here I was, finding myself thinking; what a rare opportunity.’

Blaze shrugged and replied: ‘what kind of opportunity do you mean my friend?’

Mathew grinned and answered: ‘oh, just a thought really, something that’s been simmering in my brain for quite a while now. The idea of how great it would be to fight you, without holding back, without worrying about other people getting in the way. And here it is. You’re here, I’m here, we’re both fresh, no innocent people will get in our way here and if hollows do, we’ll simply do our duty as soul reapers, cleansing their souls and sending them to the soul society.’

Blaze thought about it for a moment. A fight with his friend, as well as a member of the royal guard. Someone didn’t get such an opportunity very often. Almost never. And here it was, the opportunity. Blaze smiled, drew his Zanpaktou and said: ‘alright, I’m up for it. so, let’s get to it.’

Mathew smiled took a stance and threw a punch. Blaze evaded the attack, dodged the next punch, jumped over an incoming kick and swung his blade at Mathew. Mathew then jumped on his hands, clapped his feet together around the blade, blocking it and trapping it before pulling Blaze close by his blade, letting it go, grabbing Blaze with his feet before kicking him into the air.

Blaze had momentarily gotten the wind kicked out of him, then took a deep breath, restored his composure, aimed his left hand down and said: ‘hado 31; Shakaho!’

Blaze shot down a red ball of burning spirit energy, grabbed his Zanpaktou firm with both hands, watched Mathew jumped back on his feet, dodging the Shakaho, than flash stepped after him and swinging his blade at him again. Mathew this time caught it with his bare hand, smiled, turned to Blaze, placed his left index finger in Blaze’s stomach and said: ‘hado 4; Byakurai!’

Blaze let go of his Zanpaktou, flash stepped out of the way of the burst of white lightning, flash stepped back, pulled Kewashii Furea out of Mathew’s grasp, jumped back and said: ‘okay, warming up’s over. Incinerate; Kewashii Furea!’

the blade was engulfed in flames, the blade grew slightly longer, the steel turned red hot, the guard of the blade turned into 3 distinct layers, each tilted on a slant and ending in a point. Blaze swung his Shikai, blowing the engulfing flames and smoke away. Blaze grinned and said: ‘okay, let’s get on with it! Netsu Shinkaro!’

the blade started to vibrate it seemed, but in reality, this was hot air coming from the blade, which was turning bright crimson red, glowing with heat. Mathew smiled and said: ‘you were right before, Hueco Mundo is cold indeed, but with a nice fire from your Zanpaktou, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.’

Blaze flash stepped forward, appearing behind Mathew, who launched a kick at him, only to see his kick pass through Blaze. Mathew smiled, the heat mirage, smart to try and place him in the middle of it. Blaze than appeared at several spots, each swinging their blade at Mathew while Blaze said: ‘Kisai Koto!’

each Blaze shot out a large ball of fire. Mathew aimed his right hand down and said: ‘hado 58; Tenran.’ A large tornado was blown down and as it hit the ground, it bounced back up, creating a large tornado shield around Mathew. the wind also scattered the heat and blocked the incoming Kisai Koto. Mathew than saw Blaze, the real Blaze, flash stepped over to him and kicked him against the ground.

Blaze landed, jumped back up right away, wrapped his blade in the flames of Kisai Koto, ran back at Mathew and swung his blade again and again. Mathew side stepped, ducked away, jumped over and dodged each incoming attack. Blaze found it hard to keep track of Mathew’s movements. The way he kept jumping around, jumping on his hands, somersaulting, rolling and jumping out of the way.

Mathew smiled, jumped on his hands, spun around, kicking both his legs at blaze several times. Blaze dodged them, than counter attacked, only to receive another kick against his wrist, pushing his blade out of the intended slash course, Mathew then jumped up, along with his spin, slamming Blaze to the ground with a right back hand.

Blaze got up again and said: ‘alright, let’s see how you like this Mathew! Netsu Shinkaro, Baningureiji!’ the flames of the Kisai Koto that were still around the blade started to rotate around the blade while being compressed. The heat of the Netsu Shinkaro intensified these flames and as they burst out, multiple flame whips lashed out and Blaze flash stepped back to Mathew and swinging his blade at him. And with the heat mirage, they both seemed to be engulfed by a small pool of flames.

Blaze kept up his attack, swinging his blade continuously and with precision while the heated flame whips were lashing about and around with each swing. Mathew than started to walk forward and he sometimes got hit, multiple times, by the flame whips. But Blaze could see Mathew used a technique his own former captain used. Mathew had wrapped himself in his own spirit energy, shielding him from damage.

a he reached Blaze, he pulled back his right hand, cupped it into a fist and launched it forward. Blaze quickly blocked it with his Zanpaktou, but was still pushed back with great force. Blaze grinned, he should have known fighting a member of the royal guard would be difficult. But he wasn’t done yet. He could still fight and that was what he would do.

Blaze held his blade out in front of him and said: ‘Bankai! Kewashii Jigoku!’ a large amount of spirit energy was unleashed in a wave of spiritual flames. As this fire died down, Blaze held a blade of roughly two meter. Still crimson red, shaped like a guillotine, the guard of the blade was similar to the one in Shikai, only bigger. Running down both the flat surfaces of Kewashii Jigoku is symbolic text, both being a different incantation only Blaze could decipher.

Mathew smiled, this had been what he had waited for. Now it was time for the actual fight to begin. Mathew brought up his right hand and pulled a blade from his back. The hilt was short and black, there was no guard on the weapon and the sword itself was less than a meter. On both sides of the blade, there were words, but with this Zanpaktou, on both sides were the same words, written in kanji.

Blaze took his large Bankai blade in both hands, ran forward, wrapped his blade in the flames of Kisai Koto, enhanced by the power of his Bankai. Mathew jumped forward, blocked the blade with his own, swung around it and launched a stab at Blaze. The latter quickly pulled his weapon back, blocked the attack, only to receive a kick from his right side.

Blaze slid through the sand, flash stepped back to Mathew, and swung his blade at him, sending out a large crescent wave of flames. Blaze held his right arm stretched to the right with his blade held horizontally. Mathew than jokingly asked: ‘what were you swinging it?’

Blaze watched his blade and found Mathew standing at the end of it with a smiled. Blaze pulled his blade away, spun around, set his blade ablaze once more and swung it at Mathew again. Mathew tossed his blade into his left foot, kicked it up against the incoming attack, blocked it with equal force, spun around until he hovered above the large blade, tossed his Shikai into his right foot and stab kicked it forward. Blaze stepped back, swung his blade up, both dodging and countering at the same time.

Mathew flash stepped out of the way of that last attack, appearing higher in the sky, pulling up his right leg and placing his left hand on the first word of his Zanpaktou: ‘now Blaze, I hope you’re ready. Chikara; Setsudan!’

the first word started to glow and Mathew launched a crescent kick down at Blaze, sending out a large white crescent blast of spirit energy. Blaze swung his own blade upward and said: ‘Kisai Koto, strengthening his attack and sending a burning crescent attack upwards. The two attacks clashed, but the Setsudan attack cut through the flames and was still aimed for Blaze.

the latter flash stepped out of the way, saw Mathew come down at great speed and swung his blade to intercept him. But as he did, Mathew flash stepped and as he landed behind Blaze, the latter had a small cut on his left shoulder. Blaze didn’t let up for a moment, turned around quickly and stabbed his blade forward.

Mathew blocked the incoming thrust, holding his blade in his right hand, pushed the blade aside, jumped onto his left hand, spun around and slashed his blade upwards. Blaze blocked the attack, jumped back and quickly stabbed his blade into the ground and said: ‘Kasai Kimusho!’

flames started to flow from the blade and created a field of flames that covered quite a bit of ground. Blaze than turned his Bankai blade 90 degrees and all the scattered flames all over the field rushed over to Mathew, starting to rotate around him, all around him, forming a sphere of flames around Mathew. Blaze then pulled his weapon from the glass, seeing as the sand had been burned by the fire. The sphere of flames than exploded with quite a bit of force.

Mathew than clapped from behind Blaze and said: ‘nice work, I have to admit my friend, it was quite hot in there.’

Blaze turned around and saw Mathew stand there, not burned one bit, surrounded once again by his spirit energy. It was quite powerful indeed to survive a Bankai explosion like that. Mathew placed his left hand on the second word of his Zanpaktou and said: ‘Chikara; Jibaku!’

a large white round sphere appeared and Mathew thrust it forward, launching it at Blaze who got hit, thought just barely as he dodged it. but the flesh on his chest and shihaksho that did touch the attack had been erased, destroyed. Blood was slowly started to drip into the open wound. Blaze prepared his blade for another swing, but Mathew had placed his left hand on the third word of his Zanpaktou and said: ‘final lock opened Blaze, now my Chikara’s power will be fully unleashed. Chikara; Kaminari!’

Mathew swung his blade at blaze once more, all three words on his blade were now lightning up and a stream of white spirit energy was released, shot out at great speed and even though Blaze dodged with flash step, his right leg had still been pierced by the attack. He sighed. If Mathew’s Zanpaktou had placed locks on his power as he had just said, than Blaze had to kick it up a notch. And with these wounds, he knew what to do.

Blaze than said the incantation: "Let my Soul become heard, my will become thy shield… My heart guides the power of protection I wield"

Blaze was engulfed in a wave of blue flames. Both his appearance and the appearance of his Zanpaktou were changed within these flames, the blade turned blue became shorter but also wider,  Blaze now wears the typical black shihaksho yet his sleeves have been rolled up to his biceps. The Haori fitted over Blaze's shihaksho now has a collar as well as a torso flap which is held by binding golden ropes, intertwining into the waist of the Haori. Running across Blaze's chest is a black strap running from his left shoulder to his right ribcage, holding the upper portion of the Haori intact. And Blaze’s red hair was also longer now, though still in its usual style.

Blaze smiled, breathed out, flash stepped over to Mathew with greater speed than before, swinging his blade at him again. Mathew blocked the attack with his own blade and launched his left palm in a thrust at Blaze’s chest, pushing him back, but not hitting him, as his body was still covered in blue flames, healing the wounds he sustained earlier.

Blaze than raised his blade, pointing it upward as he said: ‘Kami no Surasshu!’ blue flames started to run up the blade, quickly building up a massive blue flaming inferno. Blaze’s wounds were almost healed and this would buy him the last time he needed. Blaze flash stepped forward and brought his blade down on Mathew. the latter jumped back with great speed, stabbed his blade forward with his right hand again and said: ‘Chikara; Jibaku!’

the ball of white spirit energy he released now was bigger and faster than the one before. And as the two attacks clashed, they exploded with incredible force.

Blaze reverted out of his blue flame form to his normal Bankai state and spoke: "Pain flows through my body, my soul slipping through a crack, Thus a desire is born, wishing to render flames black"

Blaze disappeared behind a veil of black flames, Blaze’s blade now transforms into a double edged blade, both wide and great in length. Each black steeled black separated with a gap between and each having the same wicked and grim looking curvature. Along the red spiraled handle that climbs up the blades is a small steel loop at the base of the hilt. Connected to this loop is three chains that run a good three meters before the opposite end attaches onto a steel spike… each chain attached to a spike… each spike impaled into Blaze Kagayaku's left shoulder. Running from the spikes in Blaze's shoulder, a red tribal design of mysterious meaning can be seen as Blaze has no upper clothing.

Wearing nothing but baggy black and torn Hakama, Blaze finds intimidation in additional armor and accessories. On Blaze's right arm, holding his Bankai at all times is a red, black and silver gauntlet, running all the way up his arm with the same spiraled spikes which Kewashii Jigoku has in appearance; distinguishing it's twisted and complex powers. A helmet covers Blaze Kagayaku's head in this form now. The Helmet is black with steel spikes running out from its sides as if it were horns. detail and metal lining is crimson red to give this vessel of destruction it's proper identification.

Blaze knew the risk of taking this form, loosing himself to hatred and destruction, but to stand up to Mathew’s power, who had released the three seals on his Shikai, he might just have to rely on a similar method.

Blaze started to swing his blade around as he walked toward Mathew, hitting the sands now and then, setting the ground ablaze with his Kuroi Yaju technique. The flames than shot out toward Mathew. the latter clad himself in spirit energy once again and send out a burst of it, blocking the flames and pushing them away.

Blaze than ran at Mathew and started to swing his blade at his friend. Mathew kept spinning, jumping around, from hand to feet and kept on switching his blade from hands, to feet to even his mouth when both attacking, parrying and blocking. Keeping up with such an unorthodox style was hard, but it could be done.

Blaze next aimed his blade at Mathew who had jumped back and said: ‘Inferunobasutā!’ orange flames started to stockpile while also being condensed. Blaze next let loose a stream of incredibly powerful flames that raged forward with great speed and power. Mathew smiled, swung his right leg upwards, holding his Shikai in his right foot as he said: ‘Chikara; Setsudan!’ sending out a large crescent wave of white spirit energy, cutting the incoming attack in two, leaving Mathew unharmed by the flames.

Mathew grinned, as he was almost done playing. He tapped his foot on the ground, than flash stepped at Blaze and pulling out a spike while saying: ‘this spike went to school!’ Mathew turned around, flash stepped again, pulling out the second pin as he said: ‘the spike went to visit grandma!’ Mathew flash stepped back for the last time, pulling out the third spike while saying: ‘and this spike went to the market to sell your skin as a pair of boots!’

Blaze turned around with a fearsome roar while swinging his blade. Mathew blocked the attack and got pushed backward by the sheer force and speed of the attack. He then smiled and said: ‘good, now both of us have our seals unlocked and can fight at full strength.’

Blaze nodded and replied: ‘fine by me! Inferunobasutā!’ Blaze’s blade was now filled with black flames, his spirit energy was higher and more intense than ever before. The stockpile of flames wasn’t even needed anymore, as the blade was overflowing with the black flames. Blaze than unleashed a massive stream of black flames.

Mathew smiled, tossed his blade into his right hand, wrapped himself and his Zanpaktou in his white spirit energy and said: ‘Chikara; Setsudan Jibaku Kaminari!’ releasing all three attacks at the same time, sending out a great beam of white spirit energy against the mass of black flames that kept growing and coming closer. As the two hit, destruction followed.

the massive levels of spirit energy, along with the heat and fire and pure force that raged through Hueco Mundo from this blast, killed multiple hollows even though they were miles away. a pillar of black and white spirit energy from about a hundred diameter raged for five long minutes.

Blaze and Mathew were fighting next to that pillar, exchanging blows and strikes, at incredible speed, with enormous strength and with incredible precision. Blaze and Mathew crossed blades and Mathew said: ‘alright ma man, I think it’s time to put an end to this. both you and I have one final weapon. I’m ready whenever you are.’

Blaze nodded and both flash stepped away from each other as the pillar of force and flame died down, leaving a large hole in the desert. Blaze than spoke: ‘"To feel triumphant with helping those you care for. To feel victorious by crushing an enemy beneath your might, let your true will take form and prove its might… Saishū-tekina futan"

covered momentarily in lavender flames, Blaze entered his Bankai’s final stage; the final flame form. Skin tight, dark purple cloth lines against Blaze's muscular structure, shielded with shining silver armor. The armor over Blaze's chest has many thick metal spikes in curvature with his ribcage and shoulders. Other shining equipment strapped with Blaze's attire is the similar armor along Blaze's wrists, legs and heavy equipped boots, each piece of armor etched with elegant and creative designs.
Strapped tightly around Blaze's waist thanks to the help of a dark colored belt-like cloth is a white Haori type overdressing, sprawled over his hips thanks to purple metal waist guards. Flowing from his shoulders, Blaze has a small and dark lavender cape designed flame that flows off his armor.

Every knight needing his own weapon; Blaze now holds Kewashii Jigoku's true face, one seeing all things in balance and overall unity. Blaze's Bankai is now two massive blades, each pointing in different directions and ways of cut impact; one blade of red steel and one of blue steel. The symbolic incantations for destruction and protection still run up along the middle of each blade, the unison found within the blade's handle now. Silver steel glimmers in the circular handle, grip on the inside of the steel circle with winged design around its edges to hold and bind together both blue and red blade. This circular handle provides an optimized offense and speedy defense so Blaze can attack mercilessly with an added 'spinning motion'. The last key point is that the length of Blaze's hair is at its peak, as long as it could possibly grow out, reaching the middle of his back.

Mathew held his Shikai upside down and said: ‘Bankai! Chikara-Ryoku!’
Mathew was surrounded in a pillar of white and gold spirit energy. As it died down, Mathew was clad in white bandaged, now instead of a chain belt, he had a white sash to keep up his Hakama. A necklace of chain shackles around his neck with three prongs hanging from them. these chains also hung by the three loose bandages on Mathew’s back, connected by a prong. Mathew’s right arm was clad in golden armor with a red, a yellow and a blue orb being attached to the arm, each having its own word in them. Mathew’s Bankai blade had a black hilt, the guard of a rapier with the symbol for infinity on it. the blade itself was white and had the form of a katana, with a line of red running down the blade. on each orb, there were three small tiles, each placed in a triangle form. The sclera of Mathew’s eyes had turned golden, making his green eyes shine brighter than before.

Mathew and blaze smiled at each other before charging at the other. Mathew jumped and prepared to swing his blade and Blaze ran at him, spinning his blade, preparing for his own attack. These titans were about to clash. When the hollows who survived this final clash tell the tale, they speak of; the moment before Armageddon. Large portions of Hueco Mundo had been destroyed in that battle.

as for Mathew and Blaze, they had enjoyed the greatest battle in their lives.
